Depression can run in the family. Women are two times more prone to depression as compared to men. While hormonal factors like changes in menstrual cycle, pregnancy, pre menopause and menopause can be a cause of depression in women, some typical challenges faced by them make them more prone to depression. These include workplace, child rearing and caring for aged parents.
Other causes that are common for men and women are diseases like cancer, stroke, heart attack and Parkinson’s disease. Troubled relationship, financial problems and a serious loss can also cause depression.
So, depression can cause a heart attack or do you get depression after suffering a heart attack???
