The causes for having Purple lips can be many but the medical condition known as cyanosis is the main culprit. Usually purple lips are seen in cold weather but there can be some medical conditions leading to it. Some of the causes of purple lips are given here.

The drop in temperature generally causes the lips to turn purple. The flow of blood is restricted due to a drop in the temperature which causes the lips to turn purple.
