Pink eye or Conjunctivitis is the inflammation of the thin, clear tissue on the white part of the eye and the lines in the eye. It is not a serious health risk but as it spreads very rapidly, it has to be treated soon. The causes for pink eye are many including viruses, allergies and bacteria. Pink eye can also be caused by certain allergies like that of pollen, dust and those who wear contact lenses.

Other than these causes, dry eyes and over exposure to sun or wind also ups the risk of pink eye. Sometimes chemicals, smoke and fumes can also cause pink eye.
