Cholesterol is present in foods like eggs, kidney and seafood also but the main culprits behind increasing the LDL level (bad cholesterol) are the saturated fats. These are found in every day meal like red meat, sausages, hard cheese, pastry, lard, cakes, cream, biscuits, some types of pies and many more products.
The other causes of high cholesterol are sedentary lifestyle and obesity. It is often seen that people who sit or lie for longer hours and do not exercise have a high level of cholesterol. Smoking and consuming too much alcohol also ups the cholesterol levels.
