Hangovers take place when one crosses his limits while drinking. All of us know that drinking beyond a certain limit can cause hangover the next day but some of us are genetically lucky as they don’t suffer from it despite heavy drinking.
A hangover is caused by the ethanol present in alcohol which causes dryness in the mouth, headache and the tiredness. Drinking lot of water before and during consuming liquor can lessen this effect. Smoking while drinking adds to the problem as it can lead to nicotine poisoning. People with less weight are more affected by alcohol and hangovers. Age is also a cause as hangovers become severe with increasing age. The time span of drinking also contributes to hangovers as those who drink more within a short period of time are more likely to have a hangover. Lastly it is what we call the psychosomatic effect. The less you think about the hangover, lesser the chances of a hangover.
