Grey hair is not always caused by aging as the common belief is. Age does play a great role in graying of the hair but it is heredity that is the main cause of grey hair. Grey hair can occur as early as in the twenties and thirties. ‘Melanocytes’ present in the hair follicles produces pigments, mainly the melanin. Hair get their dark color because of melanin and lack of melanin results in lighter colored hair.
