What causes skin cancer?

The ultra violet radiation that comes with the rays of the sun is counted among the main cause of skin cancer. The sun’s rays are a form of radiation and apart from the apparent light; they also contain rays that are not visible to naked eye. For example it is the infrared radiation that makes the sun rays warm. Similarly, ultraviolet radiation is also invisible but its effects can be seen in the form of sun tan and sun burns. These UV rays harm the DNA that is responsible for the growth of skin cells. Once damaged, the DNA, makes the skin cells grow in an uncontrolled cancer cells.
